For the aforementioned Memorial Day BBQ, I also made some chocolate chip cookies. I use the Cooks Illustrated recipe. These weren’t as chewy as usual, but still pretty darn good. I also painted the plate. Yes, it’s a plate specifically for chocolate chip cookies–I like them that much

Strawberry rhubarb pie is by far my favorite. Hubby and I had friends over for a BBQ for Memorial Day and I made pie because they had rhubarb at the store and lots of strawberries. It came out wonderfully delicious. Mmm . . . and I liked the star cutouts too The pre-oven picture is [...]

How cute is this? A little mini can of wine. It came with the matching straw. I wanted to try out this wine and they had these little cans which meant I didn’t need to buy a whole bottle. Plus it’s so cute. It looks like the perfect drink to take on a picnic if [...]

And it’s done! You can see it’s very reversible. I have it tied in the back on the left and in the front on the right. I love it and think it came out totally cute! Can’t wait to make more

It was quite delicious and worth every calorie. They did an amazing job capturing the flavor of cookie dough in the frosting. Yum, [...]

Old photo from back in March. Remember the bake sale from last year? Where I made marshmallows, toffee and cupcakes? Well, same bake sale this year except this year I had to be out of town. Yeah, I know. It killed me too not to be able to make tons of cupcakes again. Especially since [...]

Made dinner the other night. It was my attempt to decorate the plates. And make two sides. I haven’t quite achieved that level of skill. Or maybe I just need simpler sides. The potatoes were a little undercooked :-/ Oh, well. Next time they will be better.

Another successful bag. The design for this bag went through several iterations, but finally turned out. It’s rather simple and easy to make. Here’s just a picture for now. I might post the pattern later. It holds a surprisingly large amount and it has a very wide shoulder strap so it’s actually quite comfortable even [...]

Risen grøt is basically sweet rice boiled in milk (we used lactaid for me). So, sorta like rice pudding. They eat it as an actual meal in Norway. Typically eaten as above with butter, sugar and cinnamon. It still tastes like dessert to me much as blintzes (which are a meal to me) taste like [...]
