Yesterday I took a class at A Work of Heart where we made a Tim Holtz style collage. This is my finished collage! I think it came out nicely. It’s not my usual style so I’m not sure where I’ll put it yet, but the thought was the kitchen. My favorite part was the old [...]

Well, it’s been several months since I posted to Pigs In Pajamas, but I have good reason. During this time, we came up to the finishing stages of our basement. As part of this basement, I’m getting a dance studio and a sewing studio. I’m super excited about it! But it’s taken all my extra [...]

While I was home over the holidays at my parents’ place, I was going through some of my old stuff. One of the items I found was this purse which I made to match my dress for prom back in high school. My dress was silver confetti dot. I loved it and it was perfect. [...]

On a completely unrelated note, I am giving myself a 90 day challenge from January 1 to March 31. I learned about 90 day challenges from a friend who does them for yoga. Essentially you pick something and make a promise to do it every day for 90 days. If you miss a day, you [...]

I’m sure I’ll have another post-Thanksgiving post to show all the items I’ve made for Thanksgiving. This is my first Thanksgiving. I’ll be attempting my own turkey, my own stuffing and my own mashed potatoes. All of which I’ve never made. I also made a tablecloth, table runner, napkins and matching outfits for me and [...]

So today I didn’t quite follow the directions since I was still working on my pattern. I started by marking off 1.5″ from each side. Then I had to adjust the armholes. I used my French curve to draw the line from the existing shoulder to where the new armpit is. I did this because [...]

Okay. It’s day two. The only thing to do today is to cut out the pieces. I’ve finally picked out my fabric: The white you see is a cool embroidered edge that I think will add something interesting to the bottom of this otherwise plain and simple dress.
