I’ve been wanting to make bolognese sauce ever since I saw it on notmartha. I found a recipe on Allrecipes. (Allrecipes rocks.) Specifically this recipe. I left out the whole bacon part but it was still quite good and I would make it again. I would leave out the carrots next time because they were just a royal pain and I don’t think they made a different in the taste. Plus, I think parsley or dried basil would make better garnish.
More after the break . . .
I served it over gnocchi made from a box I got at Williams Sonoma. All I had to do was add water. I think this is the one:
Although mine came in a box not a bag. But I thought it was quite good, especially since gnocchi tends to take on the taste of its sauce (which was quite good). In any case, all you have to do is add water! It’s that simple. Really fast and easy. And if you already have sauce made, you can have dinner ready in like 15 minutes! I will definitely be buying more.
We had about 4 servings of the bolognese sauce left so I put them in tupperware to freeze for later. Probably over more gnocchi.
