So I finally got my new needle plate which means I can keep working on my Sophia bag. My new needle plate has inches, not millimeters which is so much more useful since almost all the patterns I have here are in inches. The machine (Husqvarna Viking Platinum 950e) was made in Europe though so that’s why it’s got millimeters. Here you can see a comparison of the two plates. The old one is on the left, the new on the right (although that’s probably obvious).
You can see that the new plate, other than having inches is infinitely more useful. It has lines on both sides of the needle (yes, I occasionally like to sew like a lefty. Sometimes it’s easier than rotating the fabric or flipping it over), and it also has more crosswise lines which are useful when turning.
Check it out all ready to go:
when you come visit you will have to see the treadle machine needle plate. B
