First pair of panties

As you may or may not know, I’ve recently started taking sewing classes at the local college. I’m taking two classes: lingerie construction and intermediate clothing construction. These are fabulous classes and I’m learning a ton.

For the lingerie class we recently had to turn in our first project which was a pair of panties. There are only two projects. But this is the first. It had to have an enclosed crotch. Check it out:

And we had to use one of the elastic techniques taught in class. I used the two-step method:

I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out. We weren’t supposed to try them on since we had to turn them in, but from what I can tell, they’re a bit big. When I get them back I will take a closer look and adjust the pattern. But I am definitely looking forward to making more of them!
