So this is partly a gratuitous photo of my dog. But there is actually some sewing in it as well. You may notice that there appears to be a cover on the arm of the couch. You would be correct. Minnie usually spends the day looking out that window. Whenever someone walks by she feels the need to tell them to leave (maybe she’s saying “hello” but I highly doubt it).
In the process, she ends up scrabbling and jumping against the window. This in turn was starting to wear on the couch so my dear husband asked me to make a cover.
Real leather was fairly costly and I wasn’t sure I had the sizing right so I went with fake leather. The closest leather match I could find was some stuff that had fake shearling on the other side, making it very thick. I had to use a leather needle to sew through this stuff. Especially at one point where some seams overlapped, there were 4 layers. It was almost impossible, but I was able.
In the end it’s about 2 inches too long so the next one will hopefully fit right. And yes, there will be a next one. Minnie has already destroyed this one 😛

With the extra material, you could make a sign: _3_ days of no couches destroyed by Minnie
I suppose I could 🙂
