Finally finished up some more quilts and actually got photos of them! This one is using squares from the Summer Sampler 2011 which I used to teach a class at work back before the pandemic. There are 12 blocks in the Summer Sampler, but I often did more than one to demonstrate for students and these were the leftovers after piecing a quilt with one of each of the blocks. But that quilt has been stuck at work since the pandemic started so you’ll see it eventually . . .
All the fabric is various shades of blue Kona cotton. I haven’t done many monochromatic quilts but I really like the look of it. Especially in blue.
I had it quilted by Lucky Penny Quilting who always does a fabulous job! Normally I would do this on the longarm myself but I haven’t had access to the normal place where I rent so having the option to have someone else quilt it has been really nice and a big time saver to get through some of these WIPs.
My quilt guild collects quilts for charity and I’ve donated this one to be given to someone who needs a hug they can hold.
