During 2020, my quilt guild did a block of the month in a very modern way. They had us pick out 5 fabrics and then each month we got a different type of block to make. However, at the end, there was no direction for how to put them together. That was up to us. This is what I came up with after much hemming and hawing. It was neat to see what other folks did. There were so many different configurations!
I love the colors I picked and ultimately I think it came out neat. It was certainly an excellent exercise to get me out of my comfort zone of quilting. But it’s just not something that will fit at my house (also, I have a lot of quilts at this point). So I’ve decided to donate this one through my quilt guild.
I had it quilted by Lucky Penny Quilting and I really like the zigzag design she picked. It really picks up the shapes in the quilt without being too much. I will often tell her to just go with whatever quilt design she thinks will look good and she always picks great patterns.
The fabric is all Kona cotton solids.
