Okay, one more in this pattern testing set for you. This is the Pattern Emporium Hugs & Kisses Cami. It’s very similar to the Heartstrings Dress that was in the last 2 posts, but does vary below the bust.
I made the same size in the bust as I did for my Heartstrings (8), but then graded out to a 10 at the waist and a 12 at the hip because I don’t like my cami tops to be skin tight. I really like the resulting fit.
This one, like my second Heartstrings dress, is a low back because I made it to show off my fancy yoga bras. And since I knew I’d be wearing it over a bra, I didn’t add the shelf bra.
The neckline and binding are both self-fabric like my first Heartstrings dress.
Without the shelf bra, this is a super fast make. Only the front, back, neckline and binding. If you did it with foldover elastic, it would only be 2 pieces plus the elastic! So yeah, this will definitely be a goto for me when I need a quick top. For example, if I need a running costume for a race and I’ve left it to the last minute (which I would never do, of course).
