I am so excited to share these photos with you! I had an awesome photoshoot for my streetwear Snowth look and I was debating how to fit it all into one post. So I think I’m going to show you the photos from the shoot today and I’ll talk about the construction tomorrow.

I wanted to participate in the Geek Fashion Week. The Geek Fashion Week was an effort started by a bunch of geek fashionistas that simply wanted to share their geek fashion with the world in a cohesive way. It’s small this year, but I think it will be even bigger next year! I didn’t have a video in the “runway” compilation because I’m still working on the whole video part, but I did get lots of fun photos.

I actually submitted 2 looks. My older Kitty Pryde one and this one. This one was inspired by the Snowths, also known as the backup singers for Mahna Mahna of the Muppets.
I’m pretty happy with how well I captured their look and feel. We found a mural to do the photos against and while I would have like some slightly grittier graffiti, I think these worked well.

I actually made 2 of these outfits! They were also intended to be running outfits for the Disneyland Half Marathon and my running partner Coco and I both wore them for the race. It was actually quite cold for the race (~42 degrees F), so having a fuzzy warm vest was great. I’ll talk more about the design choices I made for them to be running worthy. What’s great about designing for running is that it often makes it more comfortable for day wear, too!

But they were definitely design to be worn normally. I switched things up — hair, earrings, styling — for the fashion shoot to show more about how they would look if this were worn in regular life.

I hope you enjoy the photos! There will be more tomorrow with the construction post as well.
