I already talked about the Cashmerette Fiske pajama set a bunch in my post yesterday, so I’ll just go over the differences. I picked up this cotton flannel s’more fabric from Joann’s a few years ago and always intended to make some pajamas just like these with it, but like always, I got busy and distracted with other projects. So when Cashmerette asked me about making the Fiske, I was so excited for the chance to finally make the s’mores pajamas of my dreams!
For this set I once again made the size I measured — 4 C/D bust, 6 waist, 8 hips — but I decided to add an extra inch to the crotch length. With the rayon of the other pair, it was pretty flowy and I was unlikely to actually wear them at my true waist. I tend to wear lounge wear at my high hip. But for the stiffer flannel and full length pants, I wanted to be able to wear it at my actual waist. I could always roll down the waistband (which apparently is something endemic to my generation — who knew?). When I pulled up the rayon ones to my true waist, they grabbed a little in the butt crack, so I added an inch the crotch on these and they’re perfect.
Once again, the pockets were amazing and nice and sleek. I already talked about these, but here you can see they’re beautiful and clean in flannel as well.
There were 2 major changes I did for this version — the piping and the cuffs.
For the piping, I wanted to match the brown in the print and I had lots of brown fabric so I decided to make my own. Ugh. This turned out fine and I love these pajamas, but it was a pain. I had to pre-wash the piping cord which was annoying in addition to cutting the bias strips. I will probably go with “close enough” in color and just get the packaged stuff next time unless I really care about matching. The packaged stuff is a little bit thinner which would have made it easier to sew, too. Anyhow, I am happy with how these came out and the thicker piping works with the flannel, but a note to self (and to anyone planning to make them) — treat yourself and buy some pre-made piping.
Note, there are several options for piping. I only did the piping on the edges of the collar and around the cuffs. The pattern provides options for adding a racing strip down the sides of sleeves and pants that you can also put piping on, or just in the side seam of the pants. So lots of customization options, but for pajamas I lean towards simpler.
Then I also did the cuffs for both the sleeves and pants. I feel like for the long sleeve version you really have to do the cuffs. For the pants, you could go either way but I like the polished look it gives, especially with the piping at the top of the cuffs.
The pattern calls for interfacing the cuffs. I did not. I found the flannel fabric was stiff enough on its own that it wasn’t necessary since it’s doubled up at the cuffs and now that they’re done, I’m really happy with that decision.

Finally, one last detail that I must share. These are the buttons that I bought from Needles Studio. I thought they looked like little graham crackers and so perfect for my s’mores PJs! (Sadly there was no square version.)
And yes, of course, I had to make s’mores in my s’mores pajamas. The sacrifices we make for quality photography!
